| Course objective : |
- This course develops basic language skills, especially the mastery of oral and written Dutch from both the passive and active points of view.
- At the end of the year, students should have reached a good mastery of everyday Dutch. They should be able to understand and present an authentic newspaper article.

| Prerequisites : |
- A basic knowledge of the oral and written language is recommended.
- The basic notions of Dutch grammar are revised at the start of the course.
- As far as the vocabulary is concerned, the knowledge of the 2000 most frequent words is recommended.
