Course contents :  During this course a handbook based on a communicative approach will be used. Grammatical structures will be introduced progressively. By the end of the course, students should be able to use the vocabulary of the handbook, as well as other vocabulary seen in class.

During this level 2 course, general texts taken from the German press will be used for reading comprehension exercises, as well as a starting point for discussions.
Course objective :  - All four language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) are developed.

- Acquisition of general vocabulary

- Acquisition of more advanced grammatical structures through grammar drills and other exercises.

Level B1/B2
Prerequisites :  Good command of the vocabulary and language structures seen in level 1
Workshops :  Oral presentation and compulsory paper.
Organization :  2 hours per week (Until the Easter holidays)
Written notes :  - "Aspekte, Mittelstufe Deutsch. Lehr - und Arbeitsbuch", U. Koithan, H. Schmitz, T. Sieber, R. Sonntag, N. Ochmann (Langenscheidt, 2007).

- "Mittelpunkt, Deutsch als Fremdsprache für Fortgeschrittene. Lehrbuch", A. Daniels, C. Estermann, R. Köhl-Kuhn, I. Sander, E. Butler, U. Tallowitz (Ernst Klett Sprachen, 2007)

- Articles from German newspapers and magazines that will be handed out during the year
Assessment :  Written and oral exam (in May/June and August).

- Continuous assessment: The oral presentation and the paper will be included in the final mark (4 marks of the oral exam and 4 marks of the written exam).

- Written exam: 20 marks

- Listening comprehension: 10 marks

- Oral exam: 10 marks
