Holder(s) :  Christophe Geuzaine
Language :  English language
Course contents :  This course tackles advanced scientific calculation methods, both from a theoretical point of view and from the point of view of the implementation of high-performance applications.

The algorithms studied cover the following topics: interpolation (polynomials, Fourier, wavelets), integration, solution of large linear and non-linear systems (direct and iterative methods), eigenvalue problems, numerical methods for PDEs.

The course introduces the C++ programming language for the efficient implementation of these algorithms, both serial and parallel.

Practical work covers in detail the use of BLAS and LAPACK libraries and the parallelisation of algorithms using MPI and Open MP.
