Course contents :  This course deals with software agents and telecommunications networks.

The first part of the course is devoted to the different agent types: mobile agents, information, Internet and learning. In the context of the Internet, intelligent agents are used for specific actions in place of human beings. The study of interactions between agents is the domain of multi-agent systems. The applications of software agents are numerous: industrial production, telecommunications systems, transport management, electronic commerce, business process, Human Resources and skills, etc.. JAVA applications to be worked on as exercise.

A top-down approach is used for party telecommunications networks. The course covers applications used at both professional and private: from access to Web pages to the use of software peer-to-peer as Skype or bittorrent. It continues by examining how to transport these web pages across the globe via the Internet without loss and with a good response time. The very structure of the Internet (with various ISPs, technology) is seen thereafter. This part ends in addressing the part of local transmission: Wi-Fi networks, Ethernet, ADSL, and other cable networks. Students will deepen practical way (at home or at the University) some aspects of telecommunications: from the path to reach a server located in California to security and authentication of access to Web pages.
Course objective :  It is important for policy makers (business and technical) tomorrow to understand how applications networks and their impacts technology and their extensive application possibilities for business.
