Holder(s) :  Bernard Boigelot
Language :  French language
Course contents :  Embedded systems are computer systems used as components of more complex entities. This course studies the hardware and software specificities of embedded systems, focusing mainly on their real-time aspects. The course studies in detail the scheduling problem for real-time tasks, as well as the internal structure of a real-time operating system.
Course objective :  Studying the structure and the development of embedded systems.
Prerequisites :  A basic knowledge of digital electronics is needed.
Workshops :  Exercise and/or lab sessions. A practical project has to be carried out by students.
Organization :  Theoretical lessons followed by exercise and/or lab sessions. A practical project has to be carried out by students (indivually or in groups). The course is given on the first semester.
Written notes :  A copy of the slides used during the theoretical lessons is available on the WWW page of the course.
