Course contents :  In this course, the students work in small groups to write a substantial program using the JAVA language. The project is phased in order to spread the work along the semester and to make it possible to correct early mistakes. Examples of projets given in previous years are an internet search engine, a word processor and a spreadsheet.
Course objective :  To master object-oriented programming sufficentlly to be able to build a nontrivial application.
Prerequisites :  Knowledge of object-oriented programmaing and of the JAVA language.
Workshops :  Programming project
Organization :  1st semester - Meetings for discussing the problem statements and to answer questions. Programming work to be done in small groups.
Written notes :  None
Assessment :  Grading of the programs that are written. Oral presentation of the project.
