| Course contents : | The whole phytotechnical course of a production conditions its profitability and the quality of the product at the time of the harvest, but more again, can seriously influence the possibilities of merchandising and storage to longer term of this product. This course understands three parts therefore, correspondent to the three important phases of the cultural practice : - initiation of the culture : choice of the variety and analysis of the incentive of the choice, types of materials available, programming and techniques appropriate in culture; - culture : impacts of phytotechnical interventions on the quality of the production, techniques of follow-up of the evolution of the quality during the cycle; - harvest : programming of the harvest and techniques of handling, criterias of qualitative assessment and possibilities of sorting. These gaits of analysis are concretized so much by chosen examples in some fruit, vegetable or ornamental productions types according to there met constraints. Courses are completed by visits in order to appreciate demonstrations of techniques and by original studies. |

| Course objective : | To analyze and discuss the cultural practices and the specific equipments of horticulture in relation with features, the quality and the destination of the productions under shelter and full field After completing the course the student is expected to -analyse the choice criteria of varieties and of available materials -discuss the cultural practices -argue about different options of a phytotechnical course in relation with the quality requirements of the market |
