Course contents :  Broad view of German history since 1806 with special attention given to political and institutional history and to historiographical debates.
Course objective :  The 19th and 20th c. German history is in fact the history of "several Germanys" which can only be understood in its European context. The course aims not only to analyse the past of our eastern neighbour but also to emphasize the difficulties of writing this past.
Prerequisites :  none
Organization :  The course will be organised in Q 2. Time and local to be discussed with the students in october.
