HIST0150-2  Seminar on in-depth questions in the History on international relations

Course contents :  The 15 hours of theory will be devoted to a summary of the principal means and men of influence on foreign affairs. The second part will ask students to 1. take a passive part in scientific caucuses linked with the subject; 2. write a personal paper devoted to one crisis in foreign relations (personal choice); 3. participate in a collective way in the preparation of a half-day seminar on one aspect of foreign affairs (the theme will be selected by agreement with the teacher). 4. participate in an educational travel linked with the subject of the course.
Course objective :  To train last year students for further activities in historical research.
Prerequisites :  To have followed the course on Belgian diplomatic history or any other course relating to foreign affairs will be of great help.

Assessment :  Students will be evaluated on their involvment in the various activities suggested and on their written and oral reports.
