| Course contents : | Specialized course, complementing the Seminar and aiming at investigating in details a specific topic relating to Ancient Egyptian Archaeology and Civilization, with a special focus on the importance of the study of material culture in the more general context of Egyptology. The theme of the course varies from a year to the other ("From Akhenaten to Tutankhamun, or the Atenist Episod", "Arts and powers at the time of Hatshepsut and Thutmosis III", "The Theban Necropolis in the 18th Dynasty", "Portrait in Ancient Egyptian Art", "Creation and function of Ancient Egyptian image", ...), in complementarity with the topic of the Seminar, and will be on display a few weeks before the first lecture. The course might be given in English, in part or entirely. |
