Course contents :  1. Microbial and kinetic metabolisms remembering
2. Fate of micro-organisms in water and sludge
3. Drinking water production and disinfection
4. Laboratory practices on basic micro-organisms
5. Description, enumeration and identification of pathogenic micro-organisms, the indicators of fecal contamination and other micro-organisms intervening in wastewater treatment
6. Microscopic examination of activated sludge and biofilms
Course objective :  Presentation of micro-organims involved in waste and wastewater treatments, and their ecology
After completing the course the student is expected to
- state the main microbiological metabolism cycles
- Restore the behavior of the various microbial florae in the natural circles
- analyze in laboratory many micro-organisms that play a role in wastewater treatment
- estimate wastewater treatment ability of sludges after their microscopic observation
