Course contents :  1st part: the agricultural tractor

2nd part: agricultural machines

  • Soil and tillage machines
  • Planting machines
  • Harvesting machines
  • Precision agriculture
Course objective :  - To discuss the methods and equipment used to accomplish the various operations employed in production agriculture.
- To present agricultural machines as a system of sub-components performing different functions.


After completing the course the student is expected to
- understand the vehicle traction mechanics
- describe the hydraulic hitch functioning and the transmission elements of a tractor
- understand the working of the main agricultural machines
- understand how to use the machines in a given environment.
- describe the transmission elements
Prerequisites :  -- ME101 - Engineering mechanics
Organization :  Lectures : 21h
Field-study trip and visits : 3h
