| Course contents : | (1) carbonate diagenesis (mineralogy and petrology of carbonate minerals, diagenetic sequences). Methods include petrography, cathodoluminescence, isotopic geochemistry.
(2) Sedimentary basin analysis (sequential analyses, sedimentary models). |

| Course objective : | (1) Recognition and interpretation of a diagenetic sequence. Use of cathodoluminescence and isotopic geochemistry.
(2) Interpretation of a sedimentary bassin, specially in terms of sea-level variations. |
|
| Prerequisites : | Sedimentary petrology. |
|
| Workshops : | Study of thin sections of carbonate rocks. |
|
| Organization : | Lectures and practical work in B18/B20. |
