Course contents :  Morphological study of sporomorphs (Pollen and Spores). Palynostratigraphy: notion of biozones and stratigraphic correlation. Study of palynological assemblies of the main stages and formations from the Cenozoïc. Palynofacies and genesis of environments of deposits; marine and continental series.
Course objective :  Arrangement of stages and formations from the Cenozoïc based on an analysis of palynological assemblies (Pollen and Spores) from sedimentary deposits.
Introduction to biostratigraphic correlations.
Prerequisites :  Knowledge of the basic chronological scale of the main periods of the Tertiary period.
Organization :  5 classes of 3 hours each. Total: 10 hours of theory - 5 hours of practical work.
Written notes :  Notes had been given to students.
Assessment :  Basic theoretical examination covering material in class notes.
Practical examination: identification of sporomorphs.
