Course contents :  Main types of sedimentary deposits. Properties of extracted rocks in relation with their genesis and their industrial use. Some aspects concerning carbonated rocks. Geological model to forecast carbonate deposits.
Course objective :  Basic knowledge and methodology for prospecting, recognizing, developing and mining sedimentary non-metallic deposits.
Prerequisites :  Bachelor of geology or equivalents.
Workshops :  Macro and microscopic study of rocks having an economic interest. Description of a borehole. Appraisal of a deposit. Visit of quarries.
Organization :  First period of the even years (dates have to be set)
Written notes :  Some documents.
Assessment :  Oral exam
