Course contents :  Part I : Inland waterways :
- Hydraulics structures in waterways : navigation control weirs, lock navigation , hydro-electricity, fish passes,
- Multipurpose Use of the waterways : commerce & transport, tourism, irrigation,..
- Link with water ressources manageme
- River versus canal
- Upper reach of canal
- Basic knowledge of river engineering : bank protection, ...

Part II: Hydraulic structures

- Fixed dams
- Floatig structures


The lecture included seminars given by external professionals (from Ministry of Transport and other universities)
Prerequisites :  Basic knowledge in hydraulic structures (e.g. GCIV2040-1 : "Hydraulic structures")
Workshops :  The course includes practical works. Some ritten works are marked.
Organization :  Organized from September to January. 2h classes a week and 4 days personal work a day to realise practical work.
Written notes :  2 syllabus (pdf version distributed - available on FTP website)
Assessment :  Practical work are marked (50%)
An oral examination (50%)
