Course contents :  This lecture includes 3 parts (this lecture is given in French) a) Hydraulic Structures in rivers: navigation locks, flood potection barriers and river navigation mobile weirs - Prof. Ph Rigo

b) River flow, assessment of the lock filling and emptying flow : Dr S. Erpicum c) Coastal Engineering : Prof. J Marchal PART 1 : Hydraulic Structures - Movables weirs and flood protection barriers, stromsurge barriers - selection, design and structural assessment - Navigation lock, ship lift, incline plane, water saving system, .. - selection, design and structural assessment - Load acting on the hydraulic structures - uplift pressure, earth pressure, ice pressure, siesmic effects, etc - interaction with the foundation (types of foundations)
Course objective :  The objective of this lecture is to given the basic knowledge to design, and calculate river hydraulic sytructures - locks, movable weirs and flood protection barriers. Port infrastructures as breakwaters are also considered.

The lecture focusses on the structural design but alos on the hydraulic and flow aspects.
Workshops :  The course includes practical works. Some ritten works are marked.
