| Course contents : | This course goes deeper into the notions of the elements of fluid mechanics, by applying them to applications in civil engineering.
- It first deals with the analysis and calculation of steady and transient flows in networks under pressure, ramified and meshed.
- It develops theoretical and practical features on hydraulic pumps and turbines to be designed for complex networks.
- It deals with flows in a saturated porous environment in laminar conditions, with or without a free surface.

| Course objective : | Complementary course on fluid mechanics. |
 |
| Prerequisites : | Elements of Fluid Mechanics course. |
 |
| Workshops : | Practice |
 |
| Organization : | The course is based on a theoretical course, exercises and practical work sessions.
* The theoretical course is ex-cathedra. The classes are taught in French. Questions are asked after class and during breaks. * Students are required to actively participate during the exercise sessions. These sessions, in French, are aimed at problem-solving. * The practical work (in French) consists of solving concrete problems linked to various aspects in the course. Several exercises are solved in groups. Some use the programming notions learnt in the corresponding classes. Students are asked to compile written reports.
All the sessions take place at the Sart Tilman campus. |
