Course contents :  The course contains two parts. The first one is based on the Vincent Louis's book Intercations verbales et communications interculturelles en FLE. It offers a history of the place of culture in teaching french as a foreign language. The second part is based on a history of music in France and in Belgium.
Course objective :  The class aims at developing students and future teachers' critical points of view in their choices about the definition of culture on which they will found their teaching, and also giving them parts of the necessary knowledge to feed these choices.

Organization :  Ex-cathedra class, but open to discussions between students and teacher.

Assessment :  Oral examination to weigh up the understanding of the concepts covered in class and to encourage critical thinking.
