Course contents :  1. Bioclimatology
2. Description of the main vegetation types: moist forests, dry forests, woodlands, grasslands, mangroves
3. Distribution of the main vegetation types
4. Vegetation of Africa
5. Human impacts
6. Sustainable management
Course objective :  To give basic knowledge on tropical ecosystems: phytogeography, origin, evolution, threats and management.
After completing the course the student is expected to
. be able to describe the main vegetation types
. be able to identify the major threats
. be able to suggest adapted management
Prerequisites :  Basic knowledge on ecology and botany required.
