Course objective :  Starting from the course of Basic in Agrometeorology, this course will show some agrometerological applications used in order to strenghten agricultural activities and improve livelihood in the rural world. Application fields concern :

  • Yield and production forecasting
  • Water management in irrigation schemes
  • Food security and climate change
  • Diseases early warning systems
  • Crop frost protection
Most models used are operational models applied at national, european or international levels.
Prerequisites :  Basic of Agrometeorology
Workshops :  Practical works will take the bigest part of this course. They will mostly consist of learning several operational agrometeorological models.
Organization :  Lessons are organized per half-days. Theory is alternated with exercises and practical works.
