Course contents :  Each semester, this course comprises 15 hours.

For the whole year, 24 theoretical lessons are programmed. They approach the origin and evolution of sport and physical education, skills and strategies of team sports (volleyball, handball, and basketball), essential skills of some individual sports (gymnastics, dance, swimming and athletics). This course provides the theoretical framework relating to the sport skills taught in practical course.
Course objective :  - To illustrate the basic concepts of the field of the physical and sport activities.
- To provide a theoretical framework to the sport proposed in practical courses.
- To present a systematic analysis of the sports.
- To build a base of disciplinary knowledge directly related to the professional purposes of the programme.
Prerequisites :  On the theoretical view, any pre requisite is essential.
Organization :  The course comprises 24 sessions of 1h15: general concepts relating to the physical and sport activities (4), volleyball (3), basketball (3), swimming (3), handball (3), athletics (3), gymnastics (2), dance (1), and utilization of the content (2).
Written notes :  A pdf version of the slides proposed during the theoretical lessons is posted on the Website MyULg. The same applies with some other documents exploited at the time of the sessions. In addition, the students will have to seek other information, according to recommendations' of the course's leader or his assistants.
Assessment :  Written examination with open and/or closed ended questions on each part of the course.
