Course contents :  The aim of this course is to discuss current events about public finance policies. For example:
- the co-ordination of tax and budgetary policies at the european and international levels;
- the tax competition between the states and (or) the regions;
- the decentralization of public finance;
- the reforms of the corporation tax;
- the reforms of the taxes on labor (income tax, payroll tax, ...);
- the mobility of the economic agents and their reactions to differences in the tax burden;
- the tax policy of the local governments;
- the market instruments (taxes, subsidies, emission fees) to reduce pollution.
Course objective :  To familiarize the students of the last year of the Master in economics with the (explicit and implicit) constraints and with the modes of decision making in the field of public finance policies.
Prerequisites :  To have followed courses in economics and in public finance (or public economics).
Workshops :  There are not workshops.
Organization :  Second semester. Series of lectures and discussions of currents events in the field of public finance policies.
Written notes :  Notes are distributed to students for each lecture.
Assessment :  Written exam.
