| Course contents : | The objective of this course is to teach the students that criminal procedure is essentially a search of a balance between the interests of the society and its security on the one hand an the individual who is prosecuted because of penal act on the other hand.
The course is divided in four parts which deal with
1) the penal action as well as with the action of the victim of the offense, which generally come together to the criminal court.
2) a chronological overview of criminal proceeding (preliminary and judicial investigation, proceedings at the courts).
3) The main rules of criminal proceedings (rules of evidence, right of defense, legal remedies such as further appeal, opposition against a judgment given in abstention, appeal in cassation).
4) International criminal law. |

| Course objective : | The purpose of this course is to provide the students with a theoretical but also practical knowledge sufficiently extended to enter into professional life. The purpose of this course is also to make the students aware of the difficult balance between the needs of repressive measures and the needs of the individual liberties. |

Students have to acquire by themselves an exemplary of the Procedural Criminal Code. |
