Course contents :  The course is wide in scope as it examines the rules apllicable to minors in general. It covers the statute pertaining to the youth in a family environment, the question of the juvenile delinquent, the child and divorce, adoption, the consequences of civil liability for the child and its parents as well. A very important part of the course concerns the assistance and measures that can be given to the child in difficulty (eg. child subject to mistreatment) and to his family. The title of the course may seem inadequate nowadays. If the legislator still wants to protect the young, the tendency is to give him the statute of subject of rights. Furthermore this topic has been transformed deeply in the last 20 years, increasing the number of authorities that are able to legislate in this area and has also affected the quality of those people invloved in this field, who are supposed to master this very specific area of law.
Course objective :  The goal of the course is to outline the principles of the federal legislation (child protection) and the regional legislation, the influence of international law (especially the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child).
Prerequisites :  It's a law course. The professor is available for the students who have never had law courses before.
Organization :  Oral course and visits to youth protection institutes.

Rehearsal: organisation of the necessary rehearsals by the professor.
