Course contents :  The aim of the course is to describe from a general point of view the Belgian judicial system. It constitutes a prerequisite for the course of procedural law, which is to be studied thereafter by Law students.
Course objective :  The course aims at providing students with a sufficient knowledge of the Belgian judicial system.
Prerequisites :  None
Organization :  Lectures and tutorials take place during the first quarter of the year.Some important chapters of the course may be reviewed by experienced students.
Written notes :  The course's teaching is based on Les institutions judiciaires : organisation et éléments de compétence,written by G. de Leval and Fr. Georges.
Assessment :  Assessment will be by a written exam. Students are required to demonstrate their knowledge and their understanding of matters exposed in the book and during the lectures as well.
