Bachelor in Law, 3rd yearFirst semester4

Substitute(s) :  Lionel Orban, Wilfried Niessen
Language :  French language
Course contents :  The course has two objectives:
1. - to initiate legal experts in basic accounting techniques and in the effective interpretation of corporate annual accounts,
2. - to examine how and why the law (in its European and Belgian components) has established itself today in what was previously governed by such well-known uses that they have become almost obligatory.
Course objective :  This is not an accounting course.
Prerequisites :  Students should at least have a good knowledge of the essential rules of the general theory of obligations.
Knowledge of company law is a plus, but currently impossible to insist upon... since the course in company law follows on from the course in accounting law.
Workshops :  The course includes practical work, which illustrates or examines certain aspects of the subject.
It also helps prepare for the exam.
Organization :  1st four-month period -
Tuesdays 14:00 to 16:00
Fridays 14:00 to 16:00
The total number of hours according to the timetable is higher than the actual number of teaching hours.
This includes:
- 13 two-hour sessions with the professor;
- 9 two-hour sessions with the assistant.
Therefore, the 4 hrs/wk may not be used.
Written notes :  A 160-page syllabus (updated in 2006) is on sale at "Point de vue".
The PowerPoints used during the course will be put online on the ULg website, as well as a representative selection of exam questions from previous years.
