Course contents :  Taking into account the changing paper vs numerical access to documentation, the course displays the different documentary sources for the biologist and the necessary methodology giving access to the right information.
Course objective :  Developping autonomous and critical learning dealing with acquisition and up-dating of scientific knowledge.
Prerequisites :  Basic scientific English.
Workshops :  
  • Writing standardized bibliographic references.
  • Making computerized bibliographic researches.
  • Locating the documentation in libraries or in the Net.
Organization :  Theoretical talk followed by individual work in libraries and on computer. Weeks 1 to 9, 14-17pm (weeks 1 to 3: B22; weeks 4 to 9: in computer room in B7 and in library in B6b).
Written notes :  Power Point related to the theoretical talk and copies about practice.
Assessment :  Oral presentation of a written synthesis about the practice.
