| Course contents : | The course is articulated around five great sets of themes:
1. From the economic development to the sustainable development of the territories: theories, concepts and subjacent values
2. Energy future: constraints and prospects
3. Diagnostic tools: the energy assessment: method of development and compared study of some cases
4. Analyze of a few means and tools of intervention: lawful and inciting measurements; technical and behavioural measures; principal sectors concerned
5. A comprehensive strategy: urbanism and town and country planning |

| Course objective : | To induce the students to integrate energy dimension in the analysis of the territories and the development of actions in order to reduce the greenhouse effect gas emissions |

| Prerequisites : | 2d year bachelor course of geographical Sciences "Gégraphie de l'énergie" ("Geography of Energy")

| Organization : | The theoretical course is conceived in the form of five seminars with active participation of students
1. Recalling the basics of energy and analysis of scenarios for the future
2. Deepening few specific themes : green certificates, clean coal, carbon capture, gray energy, energy efficiency ...
3. From the economic development to the sustainable development of the territories: theories, concepts and subjacent values
4. Methods to develop an energy balance of an area and analysis of a practical guide for energy management at the municipal level
5. Comparative study of new practices in town and country planning to reduce dependence on energy and emissions of CO2
One day of visit on the field of innovating actions will complete the formation |

| Written notes : | Three types of documents are distributed to the students 1. Preparatory files for the seminaries with questions to prepare, grids of analysis and tracks of investigation 2. Power Points of synthesis of each seminar 3. Readings portfolio for the personal works |

| Assessment : | The course is based on a double evaluation which is a co-evaluation 1.Reports presented during the seminars: 50% of the points 2. Reports presented during the examination : 50% of the points |
