Holder(s) :  Bénédicte Vertruyen
Language :  French language
Course contents :  This course is an introduction to the electrical, magnetic and optical properties of solid materials. The relationships between the macroscopic properties and the atomic structure are described without resorting to complex mathematical developments. Examples are chosen in metals, ceramics, glasses and polymers.
Course objective :  The objective of the course is to provide the students with the basic knowledge necessary to get access to more advanced textbooks or literature related to material properties.
Organization :  The course will be organized during the February-April period.
Written notes :  A copy of the slides will be given at the first lecture.
Assessment :  examination about the course itself and one or two articles. These papers are made available at the end of the last lecture.
