  • Overview : risk and hazards
  • Combustions-explosions : in case of gases, liquids and solids.
  • Thermal runaway
  • Case studies : some incidents
  • Seveso legislation in Belgium
  • PSM : Process Safety Management
  • 2 days field studies  :
  • Visit of Air Liquide Seraing plant
  • Visit of INEOS Feluy plant
Course objective :  The goal of those seminars and plant visits is to increase the students' awareness about safety isues and risk management related to the industrial operation of chemical processes.
Prerequisites :  Bachelor degree in engineering (orientation chemical engineering and material science) or Bachelor degree in chemistry
Workshops :  2 visits of industrial facilities
Organization :  Seminars are organised on Thursday mornings
during the fall quadrimester

Two visits of industrial facilities are planned :
