| Course contents : | This course will cover energy aspects of unitary physical operations in which transfers of matter and heat are strongly connected: direct thermal contact between air and water (air conditioning, recovery of calories through gas scrubbing, etc.), humidification or drying of air, drying of solids. Liquid-vapor equilibria: review of ideas of temperatures of humidity thermometer and adiabatic saturation, psychrometric diagrams. Cinetics of liquid vapor transfer. Solid-liquid-vapor equilibria: different forms of water in a solid, isotherms of adsorption. Cinetics of drying: different times for drying. Modeling of direct thermal contacts between water and air: ideas of the units and numbers involved in thermal transfers and transfers of mass. Modeling of drying agents: classification of different types of drying agents. Drying agents that operate via direct passage, or through recirculation. Results regarding matter and heat. |
