| Course contents : | Atmospheric pollution and its effect on forest ecosystems: acid pollutants, impacts on climate, impacts on forest ecosystems and critical loads. Students deepen information provided in lectures through concept maps, a case study (Forest dieback=an old story?), data analysis (Impact of nitrogen deposition on forest ecosystems). All activities will be integrated into a 'Portfolio' (see 'assessment'). |

| Course objective : | A personal and in-depth analysis of an environmental topic with the use of transversal competencies (work method, literature research, writing skills, data interpretation). |

| Prerequisites : | Notions on biology/ecology, reading papers in french/english, use of Excel. |
 |
| Organization : | Lectures are given in the first 'quadrimestre' (half-days), according to a timetable established with students (please express your interest before 20 september, by e-mail). |
