Course contents :  The course on Molecular biology will allow to the students to discover the basic mechanisms that gover gene expression and regulation
Course objective :  Allow an understanding of DNA replication, gene transcription, translation and targeting of cellular proteins. This course will also allow to the students to understand important differences between pro- and eukaryotes. On some occasion, we will discover how pharmacological agents can influence gene expression.
Prerequisites :  None
Workshops :  No praticals
Organization :  4th semester
Written notes :  Text books are Genes IX by B. Lewin (Ed. Jones & Bartlett, USA) and Molecular Biology of the gene by James Watson et al. (Ed. Pearson Education). A CDRom with all the figures shown during the course will be distributed at the first lesson.
Assessment :  Written examination

Remarks :  Every student will have to fill out an identification card. These empty cards will be provided at the first lesson. These correctly filled out cards will be mandatory to obtain the access to the written examination. In case of non presentation of the card, the student will have to show the student card together with an ID card or passport.
