| Course contents : | The course consist of the in-depth examination of a theme or a question relating to the history of the town. |
 |
| Course objective : | To learn to position the theme studied in the history of the town, theories of town planning and architecture and to decipher the contemporary urban landscape using historical tools.
To learn how to use research tools with a view to producing a presentation and a piece of written work (sources, various pieces of writing, dictionaries, inventories, iconographic documents, interviews with resource people, fact-finding trips etc.)
Learning how to synthesise these documentary resources. |

| Prerequisites : | Courses in history of art and architecture from the Baccalaureat.
Social sciences courses in the Baccalaureat. |

| Organization : | Seminars, work in documentation centres, field work, presentations, building a working group. |

| Written notes : | Texts are provided. |

| Assessment : | Presentation (30% of points) and submitting a written piece of work (70% of points). |
