| Course contents : | This course is divided into 19 weeks of classes (4 hours per week) and one intensive week (20th week).
Presentations over the 19 weeks of classes are thematic:
- concept of heritage,
- concept of conservation - restoration,
- protective measures,
- developing a restoration project,
- conservation of ruins,
- heritage and armed conflict,
- the question of authenticity,
- conservation of modern and contemporary architecture,
- conservation of historical towns,
- displaced heritage,
- stone,
- wood,
- the framework of ancient monuments,
- ...
A limited exercise is organised for a whole week: study and proposal for restoring a Liègois façade. |

| Course objective : | By the end of the course, students should have acquired the basic knowledge of the complexity of problems raised by the conservation of heritage both on the theoretical and on the practical level. |

| Prerequisites : | Courses in history of architecture, philosophy and technology. |
