Course contents :  The course content will expand upon the concepts seen in the first year relating to:
  • the composition of roofs (in particular hygrothermal behaviour) with all types of roof coverings (other than industrial roof coverings)
  • wood materials (physical properties, roof frames, assembly, panels, glues, reminder of floorboards ...)
This programme is regularly interspersed with specific courses relating to the projects developed in the workshop.
Course objective :  The interaction between the "Techno" course and the architecture workshop is one of the structural elements of the course. This involves understanding that:
  • technology is not an end in itself but is necessary for architecture as a means of achieving coherence, rigour and thus performance
  • good technology serves form and function
The practical objective is to allow students to design and draw simple buildings covered in the 2nd Bachelor's in the architecture workshop.
Prerequisites :  General concepts covered in the 1st Bachelors.
