ARCH2015-1  Air conditioning
Duration :  30h Th, 35h Pr
Credits/ECTS :
Master in Architecture Engineering, in-depth approach, 2nd yearFirst semester5
Master in Civil Engineering, in-depth approach, 2nd yearFirst semester5
Holder(s) :  Philippe Andre
Language :  French language
Course contents :  To maintain adequate confort conditions in a building requires the control of several variables : temperature, humidity, air quality. Starting from the evaluation of the demands generated by the control of these variables (analysed in detail in the "Building Physics" course), the different techniques available to achieve the objectives are surveyed.
Course objective :  To give to the future engineer in architecture the required elements to be able to take into account the aspects of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) in a building project : function of the components and systems ; technical description ; sizing ; engineering aspects.
Prerequisites :  Building physics or an equivalent course.
Workshops :  Alternating with theory : calculation exercises and numerical simulation of the plants.
Organization :  15 4h lessons (2h theory + 2h exercises) + 1 visit of building.
Table of contents : Thermal comfort additional elements ; climate; heating ; ventilation; air-conditioning; control; special applications.
Written notes :  Power Point presentation ; course notes in préparation.
Assessment :  Oral
