| Course contents : | The structure course is directly oriented towards general architectural training. It takes place over two terms.
It consists of an introduction to:
- the basic principles of the equilibrium of forces and constraints and their evaluation through analytical and graphic resolution;
- basic structural elements and their names as well as their mechanical, geometric and architectural properties;
- intuitive knowledge of the principal structural systems and how they can contribute to construction and the expression of an architectural project.
The course is split into theory and problem-solving.
During the course, students will be asked to work in groups on an intuitive approach to structure. |
