Course contents :  Introduction to the intangible cultural heritage : definition, history, institutions and methodology to conduct an inquiry

Presentation of the different involved fields : oral expressions (languages/ songs/ legends), performing arts (music/ dance/ puppets theatre), rituals ans social practices (festivals/ games/ devoutness) and traditional knowledges (handycrafts/ alimentation/ medecine)
Course objective :  Make clear the notion of intangible cultural heritage, regarding to, as example, the situation in Wallonia

Explain its importance and the social stakes
Prerequisites :  None
Workshops :  Each student must inquire in a specific field of the intangible cultural heritage. He may choose his witness.
For this following year, we'll focus on audiovisual aids, especially non-professional films older than 1970.
Organization :  30 hours

Every Monday, from September 20th to December 20th 2010, 11am - 1pm.
