| Course contents : | The course will look at the following: buccal-phayrngal mucosa lesions, salivary glands, bones, soft tissues, odontongenes, the face; the consequences of blood diseases, vasculitis, buccal-pharyngal disorders of the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys, nervous system disorders. |

| Course objective : | This course aims at describing lesions which develop in the masticatory apparatus (extended to include the buccal-phayrngal cavity, but excluding the dental organs). The long range effects of disorders which start in the masticatory apparatus as well as other serious diseases will be looked at (including myocardium infarct). The lesions are described and their ethiopathogenics and effects are explained. |

| Assessment : | Students are asked to prepare practical work exams in groups of seven to nine (two slides are to be analysed). There will also be a written exam (three open questions). The preparation lasts 90 minutes.
The practical work exam will be conducted individually with Doctor Ph. Delvenne.
After this exam students will take an oral exam with J. Boniver. This consists of comments and side-issues arising from the written exam, as well as complementary questions.
The practical work grade amounts to approximately a third of the overall final grade, without being rigorously mathematical. In the case of students failing, no part of the exam which can be exempted. |
