Course contents :  -Cultural and varietal components of tropical crop husbandry
-Comparative study of sole cropping and cultural associations
-Comparative study of the management of food and industrial crops, with vegetative and reproductive propagation, with different biological cycles (annual, pluriannual and perennial)
-Analysis of crop husbandry (cultural practices and plant breeding) of food crops: cereals, roots and tubers, grain legumes, fruit crops
-Analysis of crop husbandry (cultural practices and plant breeding) of pluriannual and perennial crops in traditional and industrial plantations
-Seed production in tropical regions
Course objective :  to develop the crop husbandry and the plant breeding of food and industrial crops in tropical regions.The species are chosen according to their biological cycle and the agroecological situations (with or without inputs)
After completing the course the student is expected to
-analyse the influence of varietal and cultural factors in tropical crop husbandry
-assess the properties of cultural associations in the tropics
-develop an integrated project on tropical crop husbandry, covering cultural practices and plant breeding
