Course contents :  Introduction
Review of a few basic technical concepts
Improvement of the physical properties, physicochemical and biological of the soils
Multiplication and choice of the plant multiplication material
Installation of the crops
Crop protection against weeds, diseases and pests
Course objective :  To study the main possible technical interventions in order to improve the performances of the tropical farms
After completing the course the student is expected to
- To understand the concepts of farming system, cropping system and integrated production practices.
- To propose the technical solutions best adapted to the improvement of the physical, physicochemical and biological properties of a soil in tropical areas.
- To calculate the humic balance of a soil in tropical areas according to its characteristics and to the production practices applied.
- To choose and obtain the propagating material adapted best to a given farming system in tropical areas.
- To determine the installation devices and choose the maintenance methods for the main annual and perennial crops best adapted to the characteristics of the tropical environments.
