Course contents :  Grasslands quality : digestibility, estimation of the nutritive value, palatibility and feeding behaviour
Floristic analysis and mapping of grasslands
Basic elements of rational grazing and forage fertilisation
Estimation of grasslands production
Practical works (vegetation analysis, etc.)
Excursion (research in the scope, farming systems)
Course objective :  Teaching the students the knowledge and the methods for the production, the valorisation and the management of forages resources
After completing the course the student is expected to
- to recognise the grass species in the temperate regions
- to master the basic techniques of grasslands evaluation and management
Prerequisites :  -- BV101 - Botany
-- BV102 - Plant physiology
-- GP201 - Pedology

Field-study trip, Fodder system analysis : 8h
