Course contents :  1. Introduction: diversity of agricultural forms throughout the world;
2. Concept of system and its application in agriculture;
3. Production factors used in agriculture;
4. Natural and socioeconomical factors which condition agricultural activities;
5. Presence of human and needs for agricultural products;
6. Vegetal productions;
7. Animal productions;
8. Genesis of agricultural systems;
9. Agricultural systems on tropical regions;
10. The diversity of agricultural systems un Europe;
11. Agricultural systems in grait plains on North America.
Course objective :  To approach in their diversity the main farming systems of the world, as resulting from ecological features and historical, political, socio-economical and technological evolutions; to assess the farming systems on bases of their productivity, stability, autonomy and sustainablity.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- Understand how function agriculture in the world;
- Analyse a farming system in function of main factors which determinate or influence it;
- Give a critical interpretation on the functioning of agricultural systems.
