| Aperçu général : | Questioning one's teaching practices begins with a "SWOT" style analysis, pushing each participant to define the strengths and weaknesses of their current teaching practices, the reasons why they wish to change these practices, and the type of added value they expect. It consists of really questioning one's professional teaching practice, thus paving the way for practical changes to one's teaching practices.
The teaching portfolio (often called "professional portfolio") consists of the outline of progress in each participant's thought processes. It is compiled at the end of the year and brings together each participant's view of teaching, way of teaching, strengths and progress made, evidence of these strengths (indicators of the quality of teaching), areas which remain under consideration and prospects for improvement.
This demanding work is the culmination and formalisation of one year (minimum) of reflection on one's own professional practice. It corresponds to the requirements posed by most professional organisations in the field of pedagogy which validate teachers' pedagogical experiences with a view to their professional progress (career). |
 |
| Objectif du cours : | Formasup is focussed on the professionalisation of teachers in three key actions. While these three skills are addressed throughout the course, the portfolio more specifically targets coherence between the three skills, how they relate to one another and thoroughly considered and effective practice.
*Designing teaching plans
- which are coherent and convey meaning,
- and which encourage each pupil to learn
*Teaching
- in a motivating, active and engaging way
- by informing each pupil of their progress
- to encourage in-depth learning throughout life
*Adjust one's teaching practices against objective and subjective information |
 |
| Organisation : | The "achievements file" (teaching portfolio) to be submitted at the end of the year and defended in front of a jury of three people, is made up of four parts, requirements for which are set out in the on-line course:
1. A presentation given by the participant-teacher, covering their courses, pedagogical training and their vision of teaching
2. A presentation and critical analysis of his or her research/action within Formasup. This section includes one's teaching quality indicators (with supporting evidence), as well as drafting an article about regulating teaching practices, following instructions and requirements given during the on-line course. This article should be publishable in a scientific journal or in the papers of a pedagogical conference.
3. An overview of prospective and planned steps to be taken by the teacher in his or her professional development
4. An analytical summary of communication by the teacher of the results of his or her actions, adjustments and development (before a group of colleagues or during a conference)
The portfolio is to be submitted for the 15th of May (session 1) or the 15th of August (session 2). |
 |
| Evaluation : | Drafting a teaching portfolio and oral defence before a jury of experts (minimum three people).
This course amounts to 50 points out of a total of 100.
A minimal grade of 10/20 is required to pass the course. |
