PESU1020-1  First steps into eLearning
Durée :  15h Pr
Crédits/ECTS :
Master complémentaire en pédagogie universitaire et de l'enseignement supérieurToute l'année2
Titulaire(s) :  Béatrice Lecomte
Langue :  Langue anglaise
Aperçu général :  Part 1:
What is e-learning and what can it add to my teaching? What types of e-learning can I implement with my students? Can e-learning be applied to the subject that I teach? Are there examples and illustrations of this in my field? Will e-learning replace my traditional classes?
What is my role when my course activities are taking place on-line?
These are the questions which most teachers ask before possibly deciding to make the leap and develop an on-line teaching space.
Part 2:
Do you want to discover the basic functions of the WebCT on-line course platform? Do you want to be able to do this at your own rhythm and for a fictional course?
An on-line teaching space can be much more that simply making course notes and in-class presentations available on-line. This space can become:

*a space offering rich content, making full use of the functions available: additional media (illustrations in the form of images but also sound, animations, videos, interactive content), glossaries, additional resources offered in the form of web links, ... *a space for discussion between you and your students or between your students, *a space for learning through a variety of on-line activities, using different pedagogical strategies and tools: individual and group work and presentations, *a space for evaluating learning by the students themselves, by their peers, by you *a space offering an individualised course, in an automated way, through learning pathways based on publication criteria you set in advance.
Objectif du cours :  To give you a general overview of what e-learning is through a range of illustrations of courses and on-line learning activities.

To allow you to manage the basic functions of the course platform: to transfer and organise your content files, to configure your course's home page, to add/delete/hide content, links, tools
Organisation :  Part 1:
The session takes the form of a presentation of different possible pedagogical scenarios of on-line activities, with a view to complementing in-class courses.
These examples and illustrations come from courses in a wide range of disciplines.
Part 2:
You have access to on-line training. Training will take place entirely remotely in the form of daily tutorial activities through the discussion forums. The activities consist of challenges to be carried out in a fictional course called the "Sand pit", created especially for you.
In this introductory module, which is entirely on-line, you will discover, through explanations and practical exercises to be carried out in the fictional course, the following elements:

*interface and roles, *file management, *adding tools, *configuring a course You will have around ten days to carry out the activities, representing +/- 3 hours of work.
Notes de cours :  On-line notes
Evaluation :  Drafting a report (2-5 pages) explaining how this course was useful for your own reflection on your classes, what can be transferred and what you have been able to transfer and why (or why not).
The reflective report will be useful for participants wishing to adjust (improve) their own classes. It will be evaluated on the following criteria:

*reference to theoretical elements and experiences covered in class
*the reflexivity (questioning, critical analysis) which the piece of work demonstrates
*format (APA references, respecting instructions, structure, quality of spelling and syntax)

This course amounts to 5% of the end-of-programme grade. A minimum grade of 10 on 20 is required to pass the course.

If you undertake Formasup in 2 years, optional courses with a grade under 10/20 obtained in year 1 cannot be retaken in year 2.
