Course contents :  18 weeks of cattle farms visits whose 60h of supervised exercises.

Herd health and reproduction managment of ruminants

The student registered for this program must insert themselves within the clinics functionning under surveillance of the clinicians in service and the coordinaton.

Amongst these obligations:

-Clinic: participation in the daily clinical activities one out of every two weeks.

Be present in the clinic 1/4h before departure
Course objective :  To familiarize the intern with the functioning of dairy and beef cattle farms.

To familiarize the intern with the herd health management : production, reproduction and health.

Clinical examination of the herd.

Data collection and introduction in the software Gardian.

Audit of an cattle herd.
Prerequisites :  Veterinary medicine diploma
Workshops :  Foot trimming.

Echography of the genital tract.

Using of the different scores : body condition score, rumen fill, feces, udder, legs etc.
Organization :  The intern takes part in the farms visits and in paraclinical activities every two weeks.
Written notes :  Without object.
Assessment :  Continuing evaluation throughout the year.
