Course contents :  The course « Selected questions of experimentation in behavioral and cognitive neurosciences » considers various methodological and statistical aspects (methods of data collection, experimental designs, data analysis and interpretation) in neuroscience studies (in a broad sense). The specific issues that will be studied each year will be selected according to the fields of interest and questions of the registered students.
Course objective :  The main purpose of the course is to gain knowledge about selected methodological and statistical issues faced by neuroscience studies. The specific questions will be discussed and debated during a seminar presented by the students.
Workshops :  Guided writing of a report in the form of a brief scientific article.
Organization :  The course is organized in the form of a seminar in which the students are invited to present a neuroscience study, which was either performed by the student himself (for example, during another training course) or provided by a researcher of the university. At the end of the seminar and according to the discussed questions, the students will be asked to write a synthetic report taking the form of a scientific article with the usual headings of this medium (introduction, material and methods, results, discussion and references). The seminar and report will especially focus on a proper analysis and interpretation of the collected data.
Written notes :  All the required documents will be provided to the students during the seminar.
Assessment :  The evaluation is based on the active participation in the seminar, on the oral presentation and on the final written report.
