Course contents :  The project is being prepared during the second quadrimester of the first Master year. It consists of a written report, which has to be handed in to the project supervisor before the first day of the examination session (second quadrimester).
The list of projects is set up every year by the `Bureau du Conseil de Faculté' and is put at students' disposal from November 15.
Course objective :  The interdisciplinary project groups several students, preferably from different programs. It is being supervised by a team of competent teachers and other members of the Faculty or another institution or company.
A teacher from the Faculty, called below ¿project supervisor¿, takes on the responsibility of an interdisciplinary team, which should include at least two teachers from different units.
It gives students the opportunity to use globally their acquired knowledge in order to solve an engineering problem thoroughly and as a team. The project aims at stimulating creativity, critical thinking, and cooperation between the students.
After completing the course the student is expected to
1. To promote an interdisciplinary approach of problems. The training students have received in the different courses favours a specialized approach in each discipline. The project should add to this the interdisciplinarity required in essence by our graduates' field of activity (biosystem management).
2. Confront the students with the constraints and requirements of scientific team work.
